Grails / Spring Boot Senior Software Developer for a Sustainability SaaS
We are looking for an experienced Grails / Spring Boot Software Developer to join our fast-growing team.

One Click LCA offers an innovative carbon accounting and reduction SaaS platform that is used in over 170 countries and is growing rapidly. We target construction and manufacturing industries, responsible for nearly half of the global carbon emissions. It integrates with all the leading design software packages and all environmental databases in the industry and provides over 60 modules for low-carbon design and carbon transparency.
You will join a supportive, effective, and mission-oriented team in a flexible, friendly and international work environment and have a great deal of autonomy in your role.
This full-time, permanent position is available for candidates based in our Helsinki office in Finland (preferred) or remotely.
What you will do:
- Work on the SaaS platform as part of the cross-functional team to develop new features and services.
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable solutions, ensuring alignment with architectural standards.
- Take ownership of complex technical decisions, driving architectural improvements and technical direction.
- Work hands-on with legacy code, modernizing and optimizing systems for improved performance and maintainability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing technical insights and guidance on best practices.
- Write clean maintainable code and design implementation approach together with colleagues.
- As a team, you own what you build, which means that you take care of the smooth operations of the product from start to production.
- Investigate and solve technical problems.
- Act as an example and mentor for less experienced colleagues sharing best practices and ways of working as a developer.
What you need:
- Several years of experience in leading software implementations and making critical architectural decisions.
- Willingness and adaptability to work with legacy systems, understanding how to evolve them effectively.
- Solid experience with Java/Spring Boot, ideally also with Groovy/Grails.
- Proficiency with MongoDB.
- Strong understanding of writing efficient, high-quality, and scalable code, including refactoring to improve resilience and reduce errors.
- Experience in designing and developing REST APIs.
- Proficiency in unit testing and documentation.
- Experience with Docker and container-based CI/CD.
- Experience with AWS is a plus.
- Clear and concise communication skills, with an ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
